Meet Our Program Manager
Meet Latavia Walker
Program Manager
Great news from Flywheel.
We are bringing the one-two punch of advanced academic studies and lived experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion to our Elevate Equity program with the addition of Latavia Walker as Program Manager. Latvia will also be designing additional entrepreneurship success programming to address the unique needs of underrepresented founders as we explore new ways to support social entrepreneurs in our community.
Latavia is a Doctoral candidate at Northern Kentucky University in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Social Justice. Prior to joining Flywheel, she was with Sinclair Community College developing programming to support success for first-generation college students from underserved communities. She is also an accomplished photographer running her own business so she knows first hand about entrepreneurship. Latavia is inspired by the opportunity to leverage entrepreneurship to reduce bias and increase inclusion. She starts January 3rd.
We are currently planning our Elevate Equity accelerator for early to mid-stage startups addressing systemic race and/or gender bias through some aspect of their business model. If you or someone you know would be interested in our program starting in early March and lasting 8 weeks, please check out our website for more information. We will start taking applications after the new year but I am happy to talk to founders now.
We are also recruiting coaches for this special cohort. If you or someone you know may be motivated to support Black and women led startups, we would would enjoy the opportunity to speak with you. Coaches receive training in the coaching mindset and lean startups. They meet with founders about 2-3 hours a week during the accelerator. You can reach out to Latavia if you are interested in coaching.
Thank you for celebrating this great news and thank you for being a friend of Flywheel.
