Flywheel Coach and Elevate Equity Alumni Connect for Awesome Talent Match

Tricia Morris is one of Flywheel’s most active Certified Coaches. She has supported founders during our last five cohorts. When she coached women in STEM+ startup, Gotara, this past spring, both she and Gotara founder Sangeeta began to notice a remarkable connection. Trica’s experience with business development and employee sustainability at Procter and Gamble, was leading to continual Ah-Ha moments for Sangeeta. Meanwhile, with each coaching session, Tricia was seeing the incredible, “double-bottom-line” potential of Gotara. Tricia recently joined Gotara’s leadership team as Chief Sales Officer.

This past week, Flywheel Program Manager, Miyah Byrd, reached out to Tricia Morris and Gotara Founder & CEO, D. Sangeeta to talk about the connection.

Miyah: Tricia, you’ve been matched in our accelerators as a coach many times. What was different about Gotara?

Tricia Morris: From my early days at Procter & Gamble, my passion has been to utilize business as a force for good to drive transformation in workplaces and communities. Gotara’s mission to bridge the gender gap in STEM+ careers resonated with me.

Miyah: Elevate Equity, our accelerator for founders focused on addressing race + gender inequities, brought the two of you together. Sangeeta, what made Tricia the best choice for your Chief Sales Officer?

D. Sangeeta: During the Elevate Equity coaching experience it was obvious Tricia was a great business strategist and advisor. Her insights as an expert in strategic customer acquisition and enhancing organizational effectiveness were exactly what Gotara needed to grow. The fact that’s she’s just as committed as we are to keeping women leaders in STEM+ is equally pivotal.
